Preserving the past for the future.

2019 Annual Report

On behalf of our board we want to thank all of you who have supported us this past year. None of what we accomplish could be done without you!  Here is a list of just some of the things we accomplished in 2019:

Accreditation through the American Alliance of Museums

Sponsored Crafts of the Past

Sponsored the Fort's Heritage Skills workshops

Sponsored the Homespun Happy Hour Beer Garden

Restored the Fort's 1850's Doctor's Buggy

Sponsored nearly 800 students with scholarships for an educational tour of Fort Nisqually

Supported the Living History Clothing collection

Provided staff and event support

Hired a part time Administrative Assistant

We want to thank the City of Tacoma Arts Commission for a matching grant to support Crafts of the Past and the Pierce County Heritage Preservation for the matching grant to restore the Doctor's Buggy.

None of this would be possible without our philanthropic minded members, sponsors, donors and charitable foundations. Their support enables us to provide financial support for the Fort's programs and give each visitor an opportunity to experience history delivered with authenticity and excellence at Fort Nisqually.

We are looking forward to 2020 and the start of a capital improvement project that will rebuild the ailing Clerk's House, and restore the Sales Shop and Kitchen. We look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead and hope that you will partner with us to make this a huge success.
